All work

Every booking, shift and screen. One platform, one builder.

Smart Padel runs day-to-day operations for two padel clubs in the UAE, across 9 mobile apps and 4 web apps. I took it from requirements to production on my own, and I keep shipping it.

Explore the system

The real Smart Padel layouts, rebuilt with sample data to keep customers private. Every tab is clickable.

Under the hood.

Every app talks to one API and one data layer, and each club runs as its own tenant. Click any part to see what it does, why it's there, and who built it.

Player apps

iOS · Android · Apple Watch

What it does
Book courts, join open matches, enter tournaments, book coaching, pay with card or wallet, order from the café. Smart Padel, plus a branded app for each club.
Why
Built in React Native, so one codebase covers iOS and Android.
My role
Designed and built it.

Staff app

iOS · Android

What it does
Coaches run sessions and rate players on technical, tactical, physical and mental skills. Staff clock in by NFC or QR and manage shifts and leave. Works offline.
Why
A separate app keeps staff tools out of the player experience.
My role
Designed and built it.

Club dashboard

Web · React

What it does
Live schedule across every court, occupancy and revenue by court and hour, café orders, staff and payroll, devices, kiosk mode and announcements.
Why
Managers work at a desk, so the dashboard is web-first.
My role
Designed and built it.

Club TV app

Android TV

What it does
Live scoreboards, tournament brackets, match info and café menus on every screen in the club.
Why
The next video preloads while the current one plays, so there is never a black frame between them.
My role
Designed and built it.

Real-time layer

Socket connection

What it does
Pushes live scores and screen content to TVs the moment they change.
Why
Moved the screens from polling to a live socket connection for instant updates.
My role
Designed and built it.

Smart Padel API

NestJS · one platform for every club

What it does
Business logic for bookings (one-off and recurring), open matches, tournaments, coaching, payments, café and staff. Each club runs as its own branded tenant.
Why
Built to expand to more clubs from day one, on launch-sized infrastructure.
My role
Designed and built it.

Import API

Bookings from other platforms

What it does
Brings in bookings made on other booking platforms and keeps each club's schedule in sync.
Why
Clubs keep one schedule they can trust, wherever a booking was made.
My role
Designed and built it.

PostgreSQL

Core data

What it does
Core relational data: clubs, courts, bookings, players, memberships, payments, staff and operational records.
Why
The relational model fits the platform's connected data: clubs, courts, players, bookings, memberships and payments all have strong relationships and consistency requirements.
My role
Designed and built it.

Firebase

Platform services

What it does
Push notifications, real-time data and mobile application services.
Why
Managed Firebase services avoid running separate notification infrastructure and simplify mobile delivery.
My role
Designed and built it.

Payments

Stripe

What it does
Card payments, wallet top-ups, memberships and packages at checkout.
Why
Stripe handles online payments and transaction processing, so the platform never touches card data.
My role
Integrated it.

What I actually owned.

All of it, on my own: from the first business requirement to onboarding the clubs.

The first TV app went live in under a month. The club apps went from version 1.0 in May 2026 to 1.11 by September.

Four audiences, one platform.

Players, staff, managers and the screens on the club walls each get their own app, all backed by the same system.

Decisions that shaped it.

There were many more. These three show the range, from architecture to product logic to the last frame on a club TV.

01Built to grow, cheap to launch

Challenge
Architect the whole platform to expand from day one, without paying for big infrastructure at launch.
Decision
One multi-club platform from the start: a single API and data layer, with every club running as its own branded tenant.
Result
Ready for more clubs and features from day one, on launch-sized infrastructure costs.

02One schedule, wherever the booking came from

Challenge
Bookings are never simple: one-off and recurring bookings, plus clubs that still take bookings on other platforms.
Decision
A single import API that brings in bookings from other platforms and keeps each club's schedule in sync.
Result
One schedule the club can trust, always up to date.

03No black screen between videos

Challenge
Club TVs play videos back to back, and even a split second of black screen between them looks broken.
Decision
Moved the screens to a live socket connection, and preload the next video in the background while the current one plays.
Result
Not a millisecond of black screen between playbacks.

How I build with AI.

AI makes a single builder fast. It doesn't make the decisions. Every step below has one owner, and it's labelled.

  1. AIPropose

Draft architecture options for each requirement.

  2. MeChallenge

Test every option against the requirements and the trade-offs.

  3. MeDecide and direct

Choose the design and direct the implementation.

  4. AIImplement

Write code to the chosen design.

  5. MeReview and debug

Read, test and fix what ships.

  6. MeIterate

Deploy, watch real club usage, and improve.

See it for yourself.
